It’s that magical time of the year when we start to emerge from under the thick layers of clothing and start to show some skin. I’m a self professed beauty addict, and I want to share with you some of my spring beauty must haves. It also just so happens that Sephora is running their Beauty Insider promotion – so it’s the perfect time to stock up and purchase some of the higher ticket items!
This Spring, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for a sweet friend of mine in NYC. She is the first in our group to have a baby, so as you can imagine, the Pinterest research game was strong. We decided on a bohemian floral woodland theme (whatever that is) and my mind was instantly focused on the floral arrangements! I knew we wanted an organic feel, and the colors we chose were shades of burgundy, sage and cream to tie back to the invitations. After some thought, I decided that a birchbark vessel would be the perfect way to incorporate the “woodland” feel. Keep reading to learn how to make this insanely easy and beautiful vase!
I know it’s early, but there’s nothing worse than waiting until the last minute to find that special gift! So i’ve done the hard part and rounded up a few of my favorite gift giving ideas! This year, I wanted to focus on featuring gift ideas from real artisans and makers. Not only does this support small businesses, but it assures that your gift will be unique and truly thoughtful.
Every season has it’s merits, but there is something so magical and cozy about fall that I just can’t get enough of. While pumpkins, mums and spicy tones usually take center stage, I wanted to create a more elegant and understated tablescape for a change!
After 1.5 years, 3 contractors and countless surprises hiding under the floors, the attic guest room bathroom is finally complete! What started as two small and barely functional rooms is now a large, luxurious spa-like oasis.
My Grandma was the queen of everything clever, from her use of witty banter to her “why didn’t I think of that?!” solutions for everyday problems. She always had fresh flowers around her house, but didn’t always have the time to perfectly arrange them. Thus came one of her many ingenious “hacks” before that was even a thing. I’m going to share her secret to a full, lush looking arrangement without breaking the bank.
Every once in awhile, I’ll find myself scouring Craigslist for those elusive diamonds in the rough. This particular day, I majorly scored. I bought a pair of vintage Thomasville Bamboo dressers and a matching cane back chair (more on that make-over another day.) This DIY make-over is one of my favorites – the result is stunning and it only took an afternoon.
I’m taking a quick break from all things home to talk about one of my favorite obsessions – all things beauty! Any of my friends will tell you that I’m always on the hunt for that next “holy grail” product – whether it be a new favorite lipgloss or moisturizer, I’ve always got room for “one more”. But as I’ve gotten older, my beauty philosophy has changed from try as it all, to investing in fewer, better, and better for me products. And I see them as just that, an investment. It just so happens that now is the perfect time to stock up as Sephora is having a 15% EVERYTHING sale for all VIB members. If you haven’t signed up, do it! You earn points which get you free stuff, and you have access to lots of other perks. Below are the items I’m stocking up on – they are all natural, luxurious, cruelty free (this is huge for me!!) and most of all, they work!
One of my favorite ways to bring fresh spring style into my home is with potted greenery, like succulents and neutral toned orchids. I found this fantastic resin clamshell at my local Home Goods, and knew it would be the perfect container for a simple planter with a high end, designer look.
