April 6, 2016

IMG_5644One of my favorite ways to bring fresh spring style into my home is with potted greenery, like succulents and neutral toned orchids. I found this fantastic resin clamshell at my local Home Goods, and knew it would be the perfect container for a simple planter with a high end, designer look.

One of the first things I like to do as soon as the weather permits is refresh my front porch planters. It’s such an easy way to add some color and cheer, even before the rest of the gardens come alive. I have five easy tips that I have learned along the way that I’d love to share!

The time has come to put away the winter scents and bring out the fresh spring newness! I have launched three new candle fragrances that I’m so excited about!! Basil & Linden Blossom is a cool citrus that blends with fresh herbs and amber, Spring Rain is a delightful fresh floral that combines with a warm white musk, and Cucumber Mint is a soft, subtle and reminiscent of a relaxing afternoon at the spa. They make perfect baby and bridal shower gifts – tis the season!!

Black “Lacquer” Secretary Desk

I spotted this desk at a local auction, and knew it would be the perfect fit for a small wall nook in my office. I loved the glass doors on the top that allow for showcasing pretty things, but the drawers on the bottom were perfect for use as storage for guests since the room doubles as a bedroom. It looked to be in very bad shape cosmetically, but it was structurally sound, so I bid low and got it for $25!

Gilded Mantel

Gilded Mantel

While for some a holiday mantel is important in terms of hanging a stocking, for me, my excitement at having my first home with a fireplace mantel since childhood means endless decorating possibilities. First, the mantel itself is a piece I am in awe of. When we moved into our house, I knew that the mantel wasn’t original, so it had to go.
