Front Porch Makeover
With summer drawing to a close, I realized that I never shared the front porch refresh!
With a new roof and fresh paint, it felt like the right time to spruce up our front porch. It ended up creating what feels like two new rooms, which really expands the livable square footage. It’s become my favorite space to begin the day with a cup of coffee, and end it with a glass of wine.
As with my entire home, I used a mix of old and new to give it a really lived in feel.
I wanted a timeless, traditional feel to go with the house, so I chose a color palate of black, navy and neutrals.
The black rocking chair used to be white, but my mom suggested I spray paint it black – and I totally love it!
One of my favorite additions was this wrought iron bar cart, perfect for parties. The garden stools are the perfect accessory for the space, since they can easily be shifted around and used as seating or as a table.
I love mixing i new with old, and this porch swing was from my great grandmother. I still have memories of swinging on it when it was on her porch. Then my mom had it, so I grew up with it on our front porch. I’m so happy to have inherited this special piece.
The two separate areas are each grounded by outdoor friendly carpets, which add to the living room feel.
The hydrangeas this summer were sooo beautiful, and matched the blue accents perfectly.
The drapes really help to make the porch feel like a real room, and true extension of the home.
The ceiling fans are perfect for the hot summer evenings, and make the space comfortable adding the perfect breeze.
Be sure to check back to see how I transform this space for all the upcoming holidays!
