Cozy Fall Pool House

When we built the pool house, it was with the intention of using it well into the fall season. With the evenings turning brisk, I wanted to add a few layers of cozy to the space, to make it a welcoming place to spend crisp days, that turn into chilly nights. Keep reading to see some of the key pieces I added, that you can add to your own outdoor space to amp up the cozy factor!

Brass Candle Sticks

Brass candle sticks are a staple in my decor, as they add instant warmth, visual height interest and vintage flair. They go with most any style of decor, and can be found at thrift shops, estate sales and antique stores. My mom has collected these for me over the years, and I look forward to expanding the collection! If you don’t want to have to hunt for them, check out some of the below options.

Another way to add a seasonal touch is to decorate with whatever flowers or foliage is still in season. I’m lucky that my roses and hydrangeas are still in bloom, so they were an easy way to incorporate some color to the mantel. I also tucked a few baby boo pumpkins in there.

Texture

Making sure your space has varied textures is important in creating a welcoming entertaining space. The woven basket storage trunks next to the smooth quatrefoil side tables add visual interest, while maintaining practical purpose to make the most of the space. Both can be used as seating or tables, while the trunks also add valuable storage space.

Copper Bar Ware

Along with the warm metal of brass candlesticks, I love using copper in the bar area. It adds the perfect warmth to a chilly drink.

The brass bin was my grandparents, and was used for storing the ashes from the fireplace. Our indoor fireplaces are gas, so this was the perfect spot to put it!

Cozy Plaid Blankets

Nothing says cozy like a basket overflowing with plaid blankets! In the summer, I make sure I have plenty of pool towels – in the fall, blankets and pillows become the staple.

Lighting

With the days becoming shorter, lighting is super important. Candle light is great, but adding a floor lamp is not only practical, but it really helps bring the outdoor living room feel to life.

This is gorgeous! We are thinking of putting in a pool and pool house, and I’m wondering if you would share who designed/built the pool house for you. It’s exactly like what we’ve been thinking of. Very nice space without going over the top!

I live outside of Philadelphia near Bucks County, PA. Not sure if you’re in PA, but if so, the connection to the builder would be helpful.

    Thanks!!!

Hi Ann! Thank you so so much!
With our house being on the small side, it was really important to us that we kept it within a reasonable proportion.
The pool house was my design – (I did have an architect draw up formal plans to submit for permits) and we used Riggs Contracting (they are out of Downingtown)
Please keep me posted and let me know if I can be of any additional help!

      xx
