Birchbark Vase

February 23, 2017

This Spring, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for a sweet friend of mine in NYC. She is the first in our group to have a baby, so as you can imagine, the Pinterest research game was strong. We decided on a bohemian floral woodland theme (whatever that is) and my mind was instantly focused on the floral arrangements! I knew we wanted an organic feel, and the colors we chose were shades of burgundy, sage and cream to tie back to the invitations. After some thought, I decided that a birchbark vessel would be the perfect way to incorporate the “woodland” feel. Keep reading to learn how to make this insanely easy and beautiful vase!

Every once in awhile, I’ll find myself scouring Craigslist for those elusive diamonds in the rough. This particular day, I majorly scored. Easy Kitchen Update

February 3, 2016

IMG_5271

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and ours is no exception. We were so lucky that the previous owners took such great care and attention to detail when customizing the kitchen. It was perfect for the most part, but there was one thing I decided to update – the range hood.

Painted Nightstand

January 10, 2016

DSC_0523

One of the first furniture DIY projects I ever did was this little nightstand. A huge pet peeve of mine are nightstands that offer no practical storage. This had great bones to it with a pull out drawer as well as open storage space underneath. That being said, it needed some serious love.

Black “Lacquer” Secretary Desk

I spotted this desk at a local auction, and knew it would be the perfect fit for a small wall nook in my office. I loved the glass doors on the top that allow for showcasing pretty things, but the drawers on the bottom were perfect for use as storage for guests since the room doubles as a bedroom. It looked to be in very bad shape cosmetically, but it was structurally sound, so I bid low and got it for $25!
